Cool, just tried it and it didn't work for me. Wrong kind of gum wrapper maybe? It smoked but never caught flame. Steel wool works.

I did that once and it worked beautifully.

Tried it many times since and had mixed or poor results.

There must be some wrappers that work and some that don't.

That's really cool. Wife unit likes gum and always has some around.

The trick with using a water bottle to start a fire works surprisingly well. Ask me how I know.
