American Blackout got me thinking that we need and LED lantern for short term emergencies. We have many candles, Coleman fuel lanterns, and kerosene lanterns. However we want to get an LED lantern.
Something with enough light for a room yet really great rUn time. Run time is more important then lumens. Battery source does not matter as we stock many of all batteries. Thanks for any help. |

I have several of these, batt junc throws them on sale at times, stock up... This is the best of the one's I've tried. Found it for $14.99 last year at the holidays. Own several. The smaller AA ones are ok too but not nearly as bright. |

I've got two of these, I really like them for using up in the attic and whatnot. |

How about a solar powered or hand cranked to charge battery in one lantern?

Another vote for the Rayovac lantern. The D-size and AA-size ones are both great based on need.

I have 5-6 of these and really like them! I need a few more, I'll have to look for them on sale. |

I like the Coleman that others have posted. You can adjust brightness and it takes 3 AA batteries. They are not as bright as others, but they last a decent amount of time.
It makes sense to get a LED lantern that uses the batteries you have the most of, which rules out D size for me. I try to standardize on AA batteries. |
