Ok, I drank the cool-aid and bought a Berkey Light. All I can say is wow, Setup in 20 minutes, no leaks, much sturdier than it looks and I really like the see thru design, no need for water level gauges etc.
I live in the country on a well with hard water that has a lot of rust and sulfur in it. After passing thru the berkey its sweet and refreshing like never before. I know there are a lot of cheaper ways to do this, but it helps get the family on board and have had no problems with the black filter elements at all, I think the QC on those is back to where it should be. If you haven't got a good passive system for purifying your household water, I recommend this, as its attractive, affordable, and so far no problems at all. just a quick AAR on my new setup. cheers my brothers. | Got my Berkey Travel coming in Thursday. The specs on the Berkeys are VERY impressive. I got the black filters and a couple PF-2 for Arsenic and fluoride removal as well. I think my wife and I are going to stop buying bottled and jugs and use the Berkey daily and have extra filters for SHTF. |
