Finally got the BOV I've been wanting for a long time. It's not exactly the features I wanted, but I couldn't turn the price down.

1990 Ford F350
Crew Cab
460cid V8
E4OD overdrive auto
BW1356 T-case
D60 front
10.25 rear

Axle ratio is 3.55:1 not ideal at all, but we'll make due.

The body is really clean. No dents, no rust, no rotted corners or rockers. 187k on the clock.

It's got a Warn Enforcer winch bumper, but that goes to my buddy as a finder's fee. I've got a Warn Classic winch bumper to replace it with. I intend to strip it of all chrome and trim, paint it black (or maybe a subdued tan or green?) then work on the interior. Will add a 4" lift, and probably 35's.

Long term goals will include 6BT/ZF5 swap.

Still trying to decide whether to find a steel contractor's shell, or find a flatbed with storage boxes.

Not bad for $1,500! Cash certainly talks! Even better because I got the money from selling the D60/14B combo that was under my M1028 that a tree destroyed.

Will post pics soon.

I have a 1997 F250 with a 460 and it's a gas hog. For that reason I would not consider it a very good BOV. Other than that it is built like a tank.

Yeah I know they don't do so well on fuel, but for the shape this body was in, I had to act. I've heard the 351 in the same truck gets similar mileage (10mpg). It's a big truck!

I think you may be pleasantly surprised at the 6BT, 3.55, 35" tire combo.

That would be what comes to mind.  BOV= the V you take to get to the BOL.

Have the same truck.

Does just as good on fuel as newer full size pick ups.

They get around very well and are good plowing through the snow/mud.

Mine gets about 9mpg is 2 wheel drive and auto trans. I thought newer trucks did better.
My 1999 suburban with a 350 gets about 20mpg.

Winter was another story.

great truck.

but don't call it your bug out vehicle until you do the ever popular 38 gallon rear gas tank swap from a bronco (it is easy).

with both factory tanks you are limited to 37 gallons of gas. which at 10mpg gets you a whopping 370 miles on a good day...get a new tank for a couple hundred bucks and now you are sitting on 57 gallons of gas and can go 570 miles without a single refill.

This post would be much much better with photos.
