So I scored 4 metal fuel cans at the local flea market for only $60.  Overall they are in pretty good condition, one of them has some minor rust on the inside.  Does anybody have any recommendations on how to get the rust out of the can?  Any idea on the best way to clean out the inside of the rest of the cans?

Thanks

Napa or another retailer usually sell liquid fuel tank liner. I have never used it but thought I would chime in. I need some cans

The best way to get the rust out: gravel and Phosphoric acid,
about a 5-10% aqueous mix, using the gravel as an internal abrasive and shaking every 5 minutes or so speeds the process up.

POR-15 makes the best tank sealant out there.
They have a complete kit including rust removal chemicals.

This is the method I am working on right now for one of my jerrys.   However instead of the kit, I'm  just going to use standard por-15 in Silver color.
