I have tried a few different teas and I just don't like tea. I know some teas can be beneficial. Can you guys recommend some sort of tea that I can throw into a BOB/GHB/TEOTWAWKI kit. I don't have to like it to get a benefit from it when things are down.

TIA

I think you may find multivitamins more beneficial then tea.

What benefits exactly do you think tea has that you can not find in other...........more appealing items???

I love drinking tea, hot or cold........but for me it's more of a comfort food item. YMMV.

You can get Earl Grey in teabags. 8 - 10 oz. of boiling water, soak that bag for 3-4 minutes, it's as good as a cup of coffee. There's green tea too, supposed to be very good for you, but it's tasteless. For something that tastes great but has no nutrition and like 600 mg of salt, try packing some chicken or beef bullion cubes. Useful for flavoring rice, beans, soup as well.

For warm tea my favorite is Tazo Zen. It's a blend of green tea leaves, lemon grass and mint.

This is what we drink at the office when we tire of coffee, and I like it a lot

I'm fairly certain that the person who orders it gets it in bulk from Amazon. Not sure if it's Prime eligible or not.

Red Rose is a good tea.

Same with what has been said about Earl Gray.

Like to pack some wild tea also.

Just about all I drink is tea! I hate coffee!

Now saying that it depends on how you like your coffee! Oolong tea the type you get at most Asian food places you eat at is great hot or cold! Green Tea I like when I buy it in a can or bottle I have made it fresh and it was not very good! Tea is a lot like coffee!

If you don't like tea, don't torture yourself.  I hate beets, hominy, and Spam; I don't store any of those. The cool thing is, right now, you can pack and store exactly what you like.   How about hot chocolate?  Cocoa has benefits, I think.

Actually, for a BOB, you could get some Hard Candy made w/ Tea extract.

I am not suggesting buying a case of 12 from Amazon.
If you are in the DFW area, I know Asian supermarkets there carry it, but you could probably get it at most Asian markets.

I stocked up on some last time I was working in DFW,
these taste just like drinking an iced tea.

ETA: The coffee candy they make is good as well.

Why bother carrying something you don't like?

The only benefit I've ever considered it to have is enjoyment from drinking tea because you like it––if you don't like it, it does nothing for you.

If you want caffeine, carry it in pill form.  If you want herbs/nutritional value, there are many far better alternatives.  If you want an easy, hot drink to prepare on the go, pick something you like––hot chocolate, hot cider, etc...

Tea is a nice BoB item because all you need to do to prepare it is throw the bag in hot water.  Try an british brand like PG Tips or Typhoo;  they tend to brew stronger and taste better than American brands.  I switched to tea over coffee because you don't get the caffeine crash as bad and the boost lasts longer.

Im not a big fan of tea either. I do keep several single serving coffee bags and 3 or 4 bags of Splenda in my get home bag. A hot cup of coffee, even in crappy tasting water, clears my head and  the caffiene boost is worth the little extra room it takes up in my bag. I would think the caffiene would be more important than the supposed antioxidants in tea in a short term emergency.

The various single serving flavored vitamin powders for bottled water can make boiled crappy water more palatible with the added benefits of vitamins if you have room in your bag.
But I also have a couple of mini plastic bottles of cinnamon whiskey in there too

If you are going to bother stocking up on it at least find something you'll enjoy.  I like Earl Grey from Twinnings or Earl Grey Bravo from Adagio Teas.  I also like Hu-Kwa but need to have it heavily sweetened.  Honestly I'm much more of a cofee drinker but I like both of those.  I've tried varios other green and white teas, gunpowder tea etc

There are other teas out there I simply hate and would probably never ever use, I've got boxes that are years old that were just such a purchase.  You really need to find something you'll find palatable otherwise you'll never end up using it.
