Do many of you ever notice when using the 1 gallon mylar bags that the O2 absorbers will shrink up the bag after sealing?  The reason I ask is that after I pushed the air out and sealed the bag I haven't noticed the bags shrinking down any after 24hrs.  I used 300cc absorbers and filled my bags 3/4 of the way full.

Thanks!

Lots of previous posts on this.

-Air is only 20% oxygen, so it will only shrink by 20%.
-Make sure you squeeze out as much air as possible before sealing if you want the squished look
-I don't try and save unused o2 absorbers, use them up
-are you sure you got a good seal
-are you sure the absorbers were good?

Yes they were new in the package before I started using them.  Also, I did squeeze out the air but was thinking that it would shrink the package but I may have just thought wrong.  I will try 500cc next time to be safe.

What is it that you were packaging in the mylar?
With some food products you might use one 300cc oxygen absorber and other products need two or more 300cc oxygen absorbers, depending on the size of mylar bag and the food that you are packaging. That has been my experience.
When starting out, or if it has been awhile since you last packaged food products, you might find that it is trial and error. I tend to overkill when using the oxygen absorbers just to be on the safe side, I don't like to repackage and I prefer to use an extra oxygen absorber rather than an extra mylar bag and additional oxygen absorbers to repackage when the mylar doesn't get a good vacuum seal.
