So where is the best place to buy good quality wool blankets?

You can find them all day long on the net for 15-30 dollars used.

I live in Florida and have never personally seen them for sale at a garage sale or thrift store, but some people get lucky and do.

My brother picked some up for 2 dollars at a yard sale and gave me a couple.

If you want the best.

Ive got 4 different models and they are very nice and not scratchy

Otherwise, check sportsmans guide and cheaper than dirt for some surplus stuff, but the heavier wool surplus will be like sandpaper on your skin

Sportsmansguide seems to have a good selection at a decent price.

I have 3 three of the German ones & wish I'd of bought more. They fit on my Queen sized bed like a dream.

Here's a link for some German blankets, although they are not the same size as I mentioned above.

I've thought about buying a couple of these for watching TV or lounging in the easy chair in the winter , but they are kinda expensive.

I just received them today, but check out this thread.  They are highly rated.

I picked up two, they seem high quality and ended up being the "grey" version, not the "red" version.  They do smell strongly of mothballs but are a good price.  Any tips on removing moth ball smell?  I'll be testing them this winter after de-stanking them.

What about the West German wool blankets? Are they any good? How heavy are they?

I'm asking about the ones marked NVA. Looking at a few links, they are pretty cheap.

Look on eBay for Hudson bay.  They are great. Much better than mil suplus.  If the tag is worn or cut the price goes down.
