I remember seeing a big "X" on houses that contain numbers. I believe the numbers stood for something like, bodies found, survivors found inside. Does anyone know what the numbers mean, and where the numbers go in the "X".  I have tried to research this info but come up empty.

Thanks

Warning: big files linked below. Considering right-clicking and selecting 'save as'.

Try pages 54-57 (actual PDF pages, not markings in document):

Probably a better and more up-to-date description here on pages 39-44 (this was published post-Katrina):

Still have the paint on some doors and exterior walls in areas that have not come back yet. It was not uncommon when driving through areas hardest hit to actually find houses that showed someone was found dead inside.

This reminds me that I need to brush up on my CERT training.
