So what do you keep on hand for foot wear in the event.
I wear wolverine all leather 8" uppers and their hikers. as I "wear out" a pair....I generally take them to a local cobbler...and have him recondition them.....fix seams....re-felt interior.....new insoles....condition leather....what have you....Then they get put away at the BOL or my shop for spares.....7 or 8 pr so far. For the kids....I need to come up with a plan for growing feet....I have at least one pr of the next size up for each.....but that equates to one season. my thought is to hit the clearence isle at super shoes.....and start picking up various sizes..... Any thoughts? |

Any thoughts? Thrift stores rule for the kids. Wife has crates and crates of kid's shoes labelled by size. I don't think she pays more than a couple bucks a pair for them and they really look unworn. Kid grow out of a size and she rummages around and brings out six new pair for them to wear out.

Any thoughts? lasty year cabelas had a killer clearance sale,,,,,got 2 pair of workboots and 1 800 gram thinsulate hunting boot...(all goretex) for under 100 bucks total.....wish I had doubled it......just bought 3 pair of walking shoes on cyber monday at 50 bucks off to put on the shelf......no kids so not sure what to tell you |
