Mentioned to my wife that we we're not prepared in case of a blizzard (see what I did there?), so she said maybe we should stock up on non-perishables!!

^ what they said.... my wife was in when I explained it to her about wanting hurricane supplies........ kind of called me out once we were stacking piles of #10 cans. I assume your wife is a woman,  , and like all women they change their minds very quickly & easily especially if they just see "money sitting there"
now in my case I just showed her things or brought up new conversations slowly and now it's almost her idea! Thats the ticket men!!!!
