In many places around the world, grasshoppers are eaten as a good source of protein. In Mexico, they are used as a snack.
They can be found on skewers in Chinese food markets.
Raw grasshoppers should be eaten with caution, as they may contain tapeworms.
Tried it when I was oversea in Thailand, pretty tasty. I watched them preparing it pretty interesting. They usually stuffed a hot pepper or peanuts inside the grasshopper, then saute it in garlic butter. I ate that and among other bugs

Grasshoppers should always be cooked by some method (I prefer roasting) before eating, and you should ALWAYS remove the legs before eating. The barbs on the leg could get it caught up in your throat, or other places further south.

Roasted grasshoppers are delicious. Dipped in chocolate, they taste just like those wafer cookies, only with a richer flavor.
