I store my shoe shine kit in a nice wooden one.
I've also got some specialty card decks in others. Paperwork/deeds/titles have been a perennial favorite content as far back as I can remember. Home first aid kit. Sewing kits Spare batteries check stubs rolled change dried herbs ![]() if you run out of uses before you run out of boxes, send some of the wooden ones my way, I can always find something to do with them. |

i have one under the Sangean 909 radio in the bookshelf next to my bed. it's a nice one that doesn't have any labels or branding on the outside. there's a;so a small solar panel that will run the radio in the box.
in it i keep a 2xAA LED flashlight with batteries in it, and batteries for the radio. prophylactics are in something else. spare mags and knives are also somewhere else, but it wouldn't hurt to put a SAK in the box. |

I get old wooden ones from the cigar shop on The Royal Mile in Edinburgh
Use them for small fittings like Lift-the-Dot fastener parts, buckles, M1910 belt hooks, rivets, etc. When I go away to trade at shows I use a box or two for small hand tools, reels of thread, etc. ....plus they are good for bullets, primers, etc. |
