Over in GD, there is a thread about mass layoffs in the police and fire departments in East St. Louis. It breaks my heart to think of that lovely place going down hill.

It seems like everyday you hear that X state has a Y budget deficit or has to cut 36% from their budget to balance it (as Illinios is currently facing) or this city or that city is cutting or flat out doing away with their police force. Does anyone know of a sticky that tracks this? Could one be started here? |
