| I have a small little notebook, I started writing down things in there that I find important, other than distance and ammo counts what else should I start putting in here. I was thinking of lat and long of safe point locations. I keep the notebook in the fireproof safe so I can just grab it and go. |

is this going to be a random info book, or important reference with bank accts and copies of important documents? if random access info book i would put everything in there that i could possibly need without access to a computer or my important docs on a thumb drive. phone numbers, addresses, route info to safe houses, gps coordinates (if your opsec allows) if your part of a M.A.G. and have codes or colors and signals, i would put in a legend for those... morse code legend,....standard response times for emergency services.
the most important thing here is that you don't screw your opsec. don't put anything in there that will compromise yourself, or anyone else if the book gets lost or stolen. maps to caches and such are all fine and good until you have to explain to the .leo that found your book why you have supplies and possibly firearms pre-positioned someplace.... |

I have been doing this for about a year now with regards to SHTF info.
I have however been keeping a note book "diary" of my hunting and fishing outings for about the last decade. It is pretty fun to look back and see what I wrote, what worked, what didnt, etc. I can pretty much tell you almost to the day when the rut will start in the area that I deer hunt in, LOL J- |

I keep a number of Moleskin books just for this purpose. http://www.moleskineus.com/ One holds the most critical info and I keep it on me constantly. Like a good soldier I always have a pen and pad. Rite in the rain works well also. http://www.riteintherain.com/ I record important data or thoughts. When I camp I write down the things I use and things I wish I had to help me tailor my load. I also record the meals I eat and what foods suck. MTN House bacon and egggs NOT so good!
I keep one for work notes, one in my car for notes while I'm driving (at red lights). I also keep a large notebook for research I do towards my degree or ideas I have for papers. Also use this for taking notes from podcats I listen too. If my wife mentions oooh I like that I takes notes |
