Anybody have these? Do they work as good as advertised?

Is there a difference between the Super Siphon here: http://supersiphonhose.com/super-siphon-hose , or the Simple Siphon, as sold on e-Bay in 3 packs where you supply your own hose, like here: http://cgi.ebay.com/SIMPLE-SIPHON-SUPER-SIPHON-3-PACK-SUPER-SPECIAL-DEAL2-/390185402381?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5ad8dcc00d

They look like a great item to ad to my collection of jerry cans which I have no spouts for. Sounds like no mess transferring, & less lifting too.

Anybody have these? Yes

Do they work as good as advertised? Yes

Just about everyone that gets one of these posts that they are going to buy another one and put their nozzles into remote storage.

OK great, but is there a difference between the two, the Super Siphon & Simple Siphon?

Thanks

One has the hose the other doesn't. The metal piece looks the same.  It's just a bent piece of copper tubing with a marble or ball in it.

I mean I never put the nozzle on my 5 gallon gas cans anymore to pour the gas.  The Siphon method is just a better solution at times.

The included hose is too thick to fit in some gas filler necks - particularly if there are some tight turns between it and the gas tank. For this reason, I prefer to carry several thinner hoses, along with an outboard motor fuel primer bulb. The primer bulb can be loosely fitted on the end of a hose to get the siphon started, and then removed after the flow starts.

Also, some filler necks have a metal flapper that tends to close on the siphon hose, making insertion difficult. One solution is to slip a short piece of rigid copper tubing or electrical conduit into the filler to hold the flapper open, inserting your siphon hose through the inside of the tubing.

I use them for filling from 5 gallon tanks to the cars, tractors, atv's and generators... work great... I think I have atleast four of them around... I picked mine up at bass pro...

My neighbor had the harbor freight version which was not as nice... The hose was less flexible and it did not work as well... marble would stick in the bass fitting and fuel would stop flowing...

I keep one at home and cabin for water but have not used it for transferring any yet...

I bought one of those 3 packs and finally got to use it for real today. I walked into the shop (100+ degrees inside) to find that one of my (brand new!!) cheapy Blitz cans had split at the cap and was puking fuel. I didnt even get to try out the reportedly shitty CARB nozzle! With no way to pour it I employed the simple siphon and drained 6 gal into the truck in about 2 minutes. It made a weird buzzing noise as it drained but otherwise was a slick operation. It took about 3-4 strokes to get it flowing well and was hands off from then on. I'm glad I bought them, well worth the money.
I tried to drain my nearly empty generator last week and it would not work for that (had to go the old school route). Be aware that you need a couple inches (5-6" at least) of liquid to get a good flow going. If you have that I cant imagine a better system.
