Anyone out there produce their own alcohol.  Have been thinking about this for years and will take the plunge this year; will purchase a small still and necessary equipment (several web sites sell this stuff).   Seems that in addition to using your product, if the worst happens and one has the means, ETOH can be bartered and used for medicinal purposes.  Currently studying the procedures.  If and when I do this, I will post a basic tutorial.

You are in New Zealand riiiiiiight? They are the only country that allows a small amount for home use to be made legally.

ATF enforces alcohol laws with the same vigor as gun laws.

I'm pretty sure Norway allows home distillation. I had a friend in Sweden that said you could go to the hardware store in Norway and buy a still cheep!

Search: the last batch moonshine popcorn sutton. It's a documentary on moonshine maker Popcorn Sutton. He builds a still and operates it one last time. This guy is a character, smokes but is in excellent shape. Also look at http://suckerpunchpictures.com as they made the documentary.

Ask.com also had a suggestion of How to make moonshine on the RH side of the page.

EDIT this is for information only. It does not suggest producing alcohol for consumption only for heat or light.
