FYI, the GHB I have in the trunk of my vehicle has a water bladder that I have filled up 3/4 of the way.  All winter the temperature in Minnesota has fluctuated from 40 degrees above to 10 below zero.  I took it in on Friday night to see how it has held up and it was GTG.  Frozen solid, of course, but when it thawed the bladder worked fine.  It was an off-brand bag so I'm under the assumption that a Camelbak or other brand name would fare just as well if not better.

So, for those that ask, clearly the water is useless to drink when it is 20 below and frozen solid, but if it takes me 2 days or more to get home, I can find shelter and use an MRE heater (included in GHB) to melt it.  I always carry a one liter Kleen Kanteen bottle with me as well, so that's the water I use to activate the MRE heater.  Plus, there is plenty of snow around to melt if need be.

Anyone in the "warmer climate" states get caught in the snow yet this year?

Just asking here...  Will an MRE heater melt water?  I have eaten many MREcicles because I  was not able to unthaw my main entree with the MRE heater.  I understand that the freezing point of an MRE entree is probably a bit lower than that of water.
