I don't agree with this guy's views, however i do believe he's got a right to 'em. The dude is getting harassed, and while I am not a lawyer, I don't think he's really broken any laws but he's definitely getting close. He seems like a prepper, although he may just be a tin-foiler http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2009/10/twitter-anarchist?CNN=yes |
| True, he's a bit throwed off, but it sounds like y'all are ok with the fact that his house got raided (potentially) b/c of his political views. Just because he's an anarchist, doesn't mean he isn't a prepper. It also doesn't mean he doesn't have the same rights against illegal search and seizure. Freak job? More than likely. Deserved to be raided because he did something questionable? I don't think so. |

Assisted other anarchists bent on rioting and destruction? It would be one thing if they were demonstrating peacefully, but when they are protesting as a cover to destroy and smash, as in other summits and political conventions, and he is assisting them, then he can go down with the rest of them.
Anarchists and what they are involved in are hardly the same as what was going on in Iran. Completely different scenarios. I suppose you feel that ELF's activities aren't domestic terrorism either? |

It's the loners that scare me.... the guys who have no wives, no children, no home, no family or community involvement...no 'skin in the game' of civilized behavior or vested interest in there being 'law and order'.
If were gubbmint, I'd focus on those guys, not 'normal' Joe Citizen types who are stockpiling out of fear for their family's safety. But then, if they did that, they'd end up surveiling ACORN, SEIU, and a host of other politically connected groups who serve some purpose other than their agit-prop goals. |

Look at what the evidence they seized is. Books on making poisons. Caltrops. One pound of Liquid mercury. Test tubes. Slingshots, as in multiples. Backpacks pre-loaded with gas masks and pick hammers. A photo saying I love the bicycle bomber, referring to a bombing of an Armed Forces recruiting center.
Yeah,. those are real political statements. His place was a storehouse, and if he's involved in poisons, he's pretty much a domestic terrorist. Welcome to the Anarchists. |

I can feel for the guy... but I don't think he's into the same kind of preparedness...
First off, he violated (imho) every op-sec rule out there... getting arrested, being very vocal, and broadcasting his views. The guy, right or wrong, was flying into every radar screen out there. I never tell the internet world my gps address. I never tell how much of this and how much of that that I have stored. The guy would have been better off following a 'gray man' strategy. I guess, being an anarchist, he couldn't do that though. Depending on his jury, he might indeed get to do his five years, per count. |
