I'm sure I've probably missed this somewhere but, are than any links that deal with recipes for the traditional long term storage foods? Specifically, bread making recipes without yeast or eggs? I'm thinking that since yeast is not a very long term food storage item I need to figure out some ways to use my wheat if the need arises and I'm out of yeast. There has to be something better than hard tack. What about using baking soda or baking powder as a leavening agent some how?

I figure I will also share some of what I feel are my more useful links for those of you that are not already aware of them. Enjoy -

become friends with sourdough...

It is pretty simple to make your own starter.  Give it a shot and see how you like it.  The one I made was super-twangy, and I fed it everything from Rye to regular white flour.  Whole wheat sourdough is pretty interesting.
