Funny movie. Acting is pretty bad and the music does not fit the "mood" of the movie at all. However, there are some great underlying messages about preps and survival. I don't know how old you are but the film is a perfect example of an early 60's style film. ..... 12 gauge from the hip at 10' - no blood - just grabs stomach and slowly bends over... I really liked the town they visited to get supplies. When I was a kid (60's) there were towns just like that near me on the Central Coast of Cali. Brings back a lot of memories. |

It was made in 1961 when ALL movies had wooden dialogue and acting was over the top to be "acting' (reference William Shatner)
It was a startling accurate movie in that it showed the good people having to harden up to fight off the ones who have gone bad. Could you imagine how it would be remade in our time... Those looters were just misunderstood and disadvantaged youth. We need to give everything to FEMA (* from each according to their means) and then the .GOV will distribute to us based on what we really need ( * to each according to their needs). Bonus points if you know the meaning behind the * lines BIGGER_HAMMER

The gasoline to stop traffic was fantastic, and would work today, but you would cause a serious pile up. There would be more ruthlessness, more vicious killings. Gas would be 50 dollars a gallon. |
