went into lowes today and they had a big pallet full of canning stuff today. i never thought i would see that stuff at lowes. they also had the book we use for canning. the ball book is a great book if u have never canned before. easy to fallow

the jars were 8.98 i think. the lids were around 1.50 i think maybe a little more or less. it was all right in the front of the store by were u check out. they even had water bath canners. they had a hold canning set for 50some dollars.

I didn't see the canner here.  All the stuff was still in the receiving area.  The "quilted crystal" jelly jars with lids and rings were $8.80 a dozen.  They had the 100th Anniversary Ball Blue Book (in softcover) for only $6.00.  I picked up one of those as I have been searching for a new one for a while.  Hopefully, they will be getting this stuff out "on the floor" so I can see what all else they have, soon.

I'll have to check my local store to see if they have any deals.... btw, a buddy of mine told me to check the local FIESTA food market for the jars with the gasket & hasp-type closure. he made great pickled hot peppers last year in jars like that.

Saw Yesterday at WalMart. Jars w/ Lids pints $8.00 Quarts $8.80 didn't check price on lids

Big Lots has Golden Harvest lid 'n' band kits here for $2.50.

Walmart is the cheapest I've found for jars, $8.80 per flat of Ball standard quarts, and $7.50 for Golden Harvest quarts.
