OK, so the numbnuts on that other network cancelled Jericho after one season (and teased us with a mini-second season), so now it looks like NBC combined the idea with "Lost" to make Day One. Their description: In the aftermath of a global event that devastates the world’s infrastructures, a small band of survivors strives to rebuild society and unravel the mysteries of why the event took place and what the future has in store. Told from the point of view of an eclectic group of neighbors in a Van Nuys, California apartment building, this journey of survival will show us that hope is found in the smallest of victories and heroes are born every day. The series stars Adam Campbell (”Date Movie”), Catherine Dent (”The Shield”), Julie Gonzalo (”Eli Stone”), David Lyons (”ER”), Derek Mio (”Greek”), Carly Pope (”24″), Thekla Reuten (”Sleeper Cell”) and Addison Timlin (”Cashmere Mafia”)
I liked Catherine Dent on The Shield, hope this one is good and not a neutered Obama-fest version of Jericho. Linky |

Without any details, it sounds like its going to be horrible. After "a global event", they try and figure out what happened. A couple of apartment dwellers in Kali are going to figure it all out..right.
I'm all for fictional SHTF entertainment, but a lot of the hollywood stuff has me going WTF in the first 5 minutes, and after that it's just a trainwreck. |

| Reading the synopsis makes me fairly sure firearms will not play a big role in their survival, or lack thereof. They are basing this fantasy in Van Nuys, California. That will effectively limit any (realistic) firearm ownership. It will be interesting (laughable) to see how much they can screw up the rest of the things the survivors should and should not do to actually live. |

Come on don't you know there only 1.5 hours away from Camp Pendleton that's where they will get the guns from!

I was thinking the same thing, that the major difference between this and Jericho would be to go from small-town Kansas to California, and then make the whole story very Lost-like in trying to figure out what happened, etc. rather than survive a disaster. Still hoping it will be decent, but I doubt it will be what Jericho was. |
| I'm wondering if they'll use some "right wing extremist" who pulls out a cache of banned guns from all sorts of locations by using his GPS to find his burried gun tubes with the bolt face decal and biohazard stickers on them and thousands or rounds of ammo. Or maybe the show will incorporate a marijuana grower who uses his/her extensive hydroponics knowledge and system to grow food (and more pot). |

A "global event" is a way to say "we want to do something LIKE a real world scenario, but we don't want to disturb any sheep by making it something that could really happen." And the "eclectic" mix of apartment dwellers trying to survive it is silly. Most of those type would be dead within a week of any real crisis. So we'll get to see a couple of artists, a goth and a hippie (I'm guessing on the make up here) get a crash course in post-TEOTWAWKI living and somehow get by.

In an apartment building in Van Nuys? Man I sure hope that the Starbucks can run the barista machine without electricity - and what if Whole Foods cant create a whole wheat pizza with goat cheese for dude and his girl friend? Man this show is so full of win Im setting my DVR right now to record everything on NBC so I wont miss it! dum basses. |

Duuude.... As long as surf is up, and the sun shining in Kali... what's the problem. They will be helped by the .gov from Sacramento. Plus, you have all the hollywood types their, the will dress up and put on a gala fundraiser for all the poor folks. It can't be that hard for them in Kali?
Food will be delivered by the local neighboors, because thier relatives work in the fields. Guns will be coming up from the South. Water, they will just steal it from up North or the Colorado River like they do now. What's the difference? Being from California, and having lived in Southern Cal, if SHTF down there, I should would not want to be thier. It will probably be a pretty short series. I would love to see the LA freeways without traffic |

Guns will be coming up from the South California is currently the largest market for AR-15's, we have more guns in this state than any other state in the union (only TX comes close). Socal is a boil on the ass of Cali, you are right. Most of everything north of Bakersfield would be a lot better off with the exception of the bay and Sacto. I would love to see the LA freeways without traffic |

Well if its left wing liberal/marxist bs.. We should understand why they just nuked 20 cities, so they won't do it again shit.
Instead of saying, those fuckers are going to pay for this. It's always the white American or White Govt that attacks, never the Chinese, or the ISLAMO FAGGOTS. HELLO, IRAN JUST LAUNCHED A MISSILE THAT IS CAPABLE OF 1200 MILES. I am so relieved that Israel had the balls to tell obi to go fuck himself. Our so called conservatives in Congress are activing like wooseys. |
