So, hive, what's the most energy-efficient mini fridge out there? I'd prefer an upright model with a separate freezer door, 8-12 cubic feet total.

If sunfrost makes one that size they may be in the running.

I would play on lehman's website or some places with solar stuff for sale and see what they recomend.

To some extent I keep on wondering about kerosene or propane instead of electricity.  It eventually boils down to what I prefer for fuel and electricity is available from the grid or generator or solar panels with battery bank.

Kerosene in drums stores an awfully long time.  And propane stores an awfully long time but I for some reason like kerosene more since it is not under pressure.

As you are shopping, look at the yellow AHAM hang tags.  It will have energy use noted on them.  It might be a good way to compare.
