I have about 200 lbs. just dumped into food grade buckets. No issues except it gets a little lumpy but is easy to break up. I wouldn't waste the mylar bags.

Table sugar is a fairly simple and very stable molecule. Keep it dry and keep bugs, critters and contaminants  out of it and it will out last you.

I have never used the o2 absorbers when packing sugar.  I did store in Mylar bags since I didn't want it to get moist and harden up in the bucket.  I store some of my preps in an unheated building, and since I did everything else in Mylar, I packed the sugar that way also.

Ut-Oh, I put o2 packs in both my white and brown sugar.

I also used mylar bags.

What will the o2 packs do to my sugar?

Thanks.

I think you could pack sugar in mylar w/ O2 absorbers, and it would last forever.

I think the 02 absorbers turn it hard, might go see if you can break it up or not.

I have a popcorn tin full of sugar, forget what it took to fill it but I just refill it when I get it down enough to dump some of the 5lb bags into it.

I keep sugar that I use in an old coffee can, course the stupid plastic lid is about dead and more electrical tape than original lid at this point.

Sugar, salt, rice, and dried beans are some of the easiest items to keep around.

And they don't disappear when friends are over like my beer storage.

sort of off topic, but in addition to storing sugar, you can become a beekeeper - and MAKE sugar or it's equivalent.
