I'm sure this is old news for some, but I just ran across it today. Has anyone played around with a wood gassifier? If you look on YouTube there are plenty of videos of guys running lawnmowers to trucks. The ones I find interesting are the guys running generators on wood gas. Wood is more stable and easier to store than gas or diesel. Most systems look like they can be built out of scrap/junk. Other than your time you could spend very little on building a system.
