So, I'm trying to build up a "disaster" kit and have a have a big plastic case for everything. I bought a 5 gallon water jug and put it in there with a bunch of dry foods and TP and stuff. Well..... I go to move it to get at something behind it and "slosh....". The water has somehow moved from IN the 5gal jug to OUT of the 5gal jug. The jusg appears to be sealed still, but I didn't want to investigate too much as the water had mingled with the foodstuffs which made a -lovely- smelling soupy mess.
Is this common for store bought water jugs? It was stored upright, no pointy objects nearby..... |

Lesson learned. Never store water in/near things you do not want wet. Was it a cheap Ozark trail jug? Aquatainer? Sometimes the threads leak, or the spouts or the seems just fail.
You learned a good lesson, and learning now instead of when you really need it is good. LCI has MWC at a good price. |
