Before putting your stuff in that basement, you might want to look at it closely to make sure there are no signs of water getting in there, and also put a water alarm in it. Having your stuff ruined by water wouldn't be fun. Cheap shelving units are your friend. Really. |

Congrats on the new place.
Dont put stuff right on the concrete floor. Use pallets, or shelving. If your in a area were neighbors can see your activities, (even folks driveing by) conceal what you have. Make sure stuff is boxed, or camo'ed to the degree necessary. You can move hard to disguise stuff after dark. Carrying in a truck load of ammo cans, and gun cases gets folks neverous, and lets the thieves know theres a new mark in the area. |

My old landlord had a clause in the lease about no guns/ammo , which of course I ignored. The neighborhood looks good but you never know. Basement will mostly be used for storm shelter and water storage.

Yikes. I rented a place from my uncle for a few years before getting out on my own. He had the same no guns/ammo rule but also expanded it to include alcohol of any type! He was a nice enough landlord taking care of all the utilities and even provided meals, medial and dental coverage. Good old Uncle Sam. For the OP also have a look for rodents - check for droppings or evidence of their entryways into your new bunker basement. It would be best to smite them before laying in any food. I lost about $250 worth of MREs to rats in Washington state as they bit their way into every bag peeing and pooing on everything. |

CONGRATS..I just recently moved from an Apt. to a Duplex...the full basement is nice ! What are these, basements, that you speak of? It sounds like a part of the garage that always gets wet for some reason...... or maybe it's a part of the attic...... Don't know |
