We had to do some work on one of our food canners, got to thinking that some extra parts put back would not be a bad thing at all. Extra seal, extra gauge, extra regulator.

What you going to do SHTF your canning like crazy and your seal gets cut by your 4 year old? Or your wife drops the lid and breaks the steam gauge?

I keep two extra sets of parts for my canner but make sure to wipe the spare gaskets with a light coat (very light) of veggie oil it keeps them from drying out and cracking.

I got my American canner ( Christmas gift to self) in yesterday.
I'm making headway.
