Found the 62gn SS109 NATO 100 rounds on stripper clips for $40.00 + s&h here: http://www.smokewagongear.com/ Not a bad price for loaded ammo. Real nice people to deal with also. |

not much more than two- two and a half years ago i got 720rnds of ss109(igman or radway mfg, can't remember which), on strippers, in the ammo can, with bandoliers, for $135 from a.i.m.surplus... i'm gonna try and find someone who can tuter me and learn me a few things and help get me into reloading... |
Not saying that you did, but I can look back and remember saying, "That is just too much to pay!" about some ammo. Now I look back and say, "What a deal! Why didn't I get more."

actully i do remember going, damn that is a lot to pay... luckily my buddy and fellow arfcommer armedsuspect talked me into it, i also put aside some addition money as i wanted a bunch of 7.62x39mm that ended up being out of stock. iirc i had put up $400+ for that and some 00buck in addition to the ss109. we(he, i , and some others) were making a local group buy from aim. i really really wish now that i had just ordered 3 more cans of the 5.56... the really messed up part is that i didn't order more of the ss109 becasue i couldn't justify paying damn near the same price for 720rnds of that(armed suspect rode my ass about being a cheap ass and needing to put away some quality ammo for s.h.t.f) as 1000rnds of wolf... ![]() i should have taken out a loan and bought all they had at that price... |
Shoot, less than 4 years ago, I used to buy 140 round battle packs of SA 308 from Aimsurplus for $22, then 29, then 40. I said woooh that is way expensive, and I'm not going to buy anymore.. Yea, right... |
![]() This is what my wife tells me anytime I make the statement, "Well, I think I have all that I need now."

yeah, i got in on some of those SA battle packs at around $32 iirc... wish i'd have picked up more of those too. i find now that i have way more guns in more calibers than i could possibly have a use for, even if running and gunning in a post teotwawki was an actuality, and far too little ammo to support any serious target shooting habbit much less a couple of fortification and attricion wetdream zombie shootouts... i would have bought a lot less "why not" guns and a lot more ammo. i mean really i think i would have gotten a lot more satisfaction out of 1k wolf .223 then some of the "well that's neat" junker guns i bought... how do those sayings go, "if i knew then, what i know now" and "if i could go back and do it over again knowing what i know now"... |
That is pretty crazy if you think about hind sight. Back when Aim had the Radway SS109 Cans I bought a few and then the whole Kaboom/potentially underpowered Cartridges came into play which stopped me from buying a hell of a lot more. Dont see where this is still a Survival Topic but still is funny.
