OK, I need some help and this is the forum I lurk in so, here goes. I have items to sell on EE but they say to post you have to have both email and IM active. I have no idea what to do about IM, not even sure what it is beyond "Instant Messaging"? Can someone help me make sure I will be in compliance?? Thanks |
I realize someone's already helped you over your hump with this. However, something it took me a while to figure out: not all "IM"s are created equal. The Instant Messaging within AR15.com is called "PM" or "PT" on other boards (Private Messaging/Topics). It's basically a private e-mail within this board. Other types of Instant Messaging, such as from Yahoo or AOL, can be security risks, and are frequently banned by IT security. I work in IT, and the second type of IM is proscribed in our workplace. Until I figured out the difference, I was in a quandary such as yours. There's my 2 cents. Now that you can post in EE, What 'cha got?  David |
