OK, I need some help and this is the forum I lurk in so, here goes. I have items to sell on EE but they say to post you have to have both email and IM active. I have no idea what to do about IM, not even sure what it is beyond "Instant Messaging"? Can someone help me make sure I will be in compliance?? Thanks

I just tried to send you an IM and it's turned off.  Stand by, trying to locate where to turn it on.

At the top of the screen, click on "Profile".  On the lower right side of the screen click on "Edit Contact Info".  From there you can toggle IM's and site e-mails off and on.

I realize someone's already helped you over your hump with this.  However, something it took me a while to figure out:  not all "IM"s are created equal.  The Instant Messaging within AR15.com is called "PM" or "PT" on other boards (Private Messaging/Topics).  It's basically a private e-mail within this board.

Other types of Instant Messaging, such as from Yahoo or AOL, can be security risks, and are frequently banned by IT security.  I work in IT, and the second type of IM is proscribed in our workplace.  Until I figured out the difference, I was in a quandary such as yours.

There's my 2 cents.

Now that you can post in EE, What 'cha got?
