Sorry to dig this one up but after a member suggested the Feuerhand lanterns in the gear sub-forum I did some research and I read where the German company that makes the Feuerhand lanterns went out of business this year.
I don't know if they were sold to someone else or not. Seems like there are plenty of lanterns/parts available. As I have a use for a small (10") storm lantern so I ordered one of the galvanized steel "Eternity" 276s and a globe, wick, and cap combo today. Not the cheapest lantern in the world but it got excellent reviews for it's quality. Supposedly 18-20 hours on a fill-up. I opted for the galvanized Eternity because it will be used outdoors a lot.

| I posted the original picture... both are actually running on red dye kerosene in the picture... later both wicks were changed, and switched to K1 ... the Feuerhand globe appears to be of a Pyrex style glass (Suprax), which I perceive as giving the much cleaner light transmission... the US made Little Wizard globe is thicker... the combustion and luminescence of the wick is better with the Feuerhand.... the bright tin plating probably helps in light reflection |
