So I have been working my bags and was wondering how do you store your helmet, bodyarmor, NV, Comm, etc? Do you consolidate it into one bag or is it spread out though a room, in a box?

Trying to get ideas, currently I have this gear in a grab and go bag, I have my BOB's, chest rigs and weapons in a seperate lock box on the second floor, and my comm in a large storage room on the first floor.

get one of those black boxes from walmart. i think they run like $17.99 or something. it's basically a foot locker. should fit your chest rig, and mbr (depending on length).

or you could go with a go bag, there is one on the EE atm. it's made by uncle mikes.

i too am looking for a go bag for my tac gear.

I don't have a helmet or body armor, but I use this bag for my gear, and it is specifically designed to accommodate a helmet.  I basically carry everything that does not go in the bob in there.  It is a great bag, alittle pricey though.  I do not have any realistic bug out plans to head for the hills or anything, although i have an alice pack set up for that purpose just because when I first started thinking about this stuff it seemed like the thing to do.  Really this bag and a camelbak motherload constitute my combined bug out load.  My wife is set up in the same basic manner, except her rolling bag did not cost as much.  My motherload is basically setup somewhere between a ghb and a light bob.  It is bug out level one or two type stuff, but there are not to many situations where I won't be able to get out of the house with the 5.11 bag sitting right next to it.  The gear in the 5.11 bag supplements the motherload generally, has more serious tactical stuff (basically just long gun support), and includes supplies that would make my most realistic bug out, to a hotel or my folks house a couple states over more comfortable, like crap you would take on a normal business trip.

The great thing about a setup like this is its very low profile and you can hual a lot of stuff, carbine and all, without raising any eyebrows.  On of these days I will get around to doing a complete description of my setup.

all of my zombie stuff is in what i refer to as my "oh shit" bag. it is an eagle sigma/m4 bag that contains:

-rifle w/ 20rd seated mag.
-1911
-chest rig w/ 8x rifle mags, 4x 1911 mags, multi, surefire, and an extra wound dressing
-gas mask w/ 2 cans
-CLS kit
-SOF medical handbook

NV is in the BOB, as it is not zombie-specific.

BOB and essentials bag each carry 2 AR mags.

cleaning kit is in the BOB.

BOK is in the essentials bag
