Build a 2 person septic system with nothing but 2 empty plastic barrels and some common pipes and fittings

PDFed for portability

Small Scale Septic System Construction

Cool stuff.  Lots of people forget about things like this.

My brother did his HOME set up, kinda' like that - with 6, 100 gal drums.

That was 15 years ago and the system's not shown the slightest hint of problems.

We owned an island cottage for years.  Completely off grid.

We used a 100 gallon oil tank.  Drove a couple dozen holes in it with a pick, laid it on side, and buried it.

We used a camper-style chemical toilet in an indoor bathroom.  Every couple days we pulled the waste gate and let the internal waste storage in the toilet drain through dedicated pipe to the redneck septic system.

This half-assed septic was installed circa 1975.  It is still in operation today.

The problem with survivalism as a philosophy or mindset is that it assumes that the human race or any portion thereof is worthy of saving.  Turns out - not so much.

Half of it's not. What about the other half?

+1

OK, so step 1 is:
  1.  Dig a ditch 4 feet wide, 26 feet long, and 3 feet deep

I didn't get any farther, I just wrote down step 2 as, "fall down and rest, take ibuprofen for back ache...

Seriously, this is a good link, could be done with minimal materials and some sweat.
