Nah, never happen. When the convention is completely deadlocked, Al Gore will come swinging down from the rafters in his Superman suit and save the day. How's that for scary? hat I should have added since natural disasters - quakes, hurricanes, volcanoes, etc. - can't be preprogrammed (to happen with certainty before November), they should be excluded from speculation. I kinda doubt that riots at the Democratic Convention would do it, either. Without a doubt, a dirty nuke would be enough pretext for martial law. But is a nuclear event the minimum it would take to trigger martial law? How about someone tossing ricin into a reservoir, or even being caught with ricin, or some other toxic substance, on the way to the reservoir? To rephrase the question, what's the minimum event that would give the Administration an excuse to activate all those Executive Orders, shut the country down, and start confiscating civilian arms? |
Obviously not, since they found ricin in a hotel and declared "Not it!!" before they even found the guy that left it there. Who's to say where he was headed with it? |
That was in Vegas, wasn't it, about a month ago? Last I heard the guy was in the hospital in a coma. |
