Che complied one of the most comprehensive lists of subjective conditions necessary for a successful insurgency. Fortunately for the Bolivian people he never followed his own advise. I took a course in undergrad on Insurgency and Counter-insurgency in Latin America. Interesting stuff. Their is a lot to be learned from Che, Debray, Guzman etc. Most of it is theoretical. None of these guys proved to be very good in the "field" R |
| Che and Mao both wrote interesting books on insurgency warfare. Both had good understandings on many levels of organization and logistical issues. Good historical reading - don't forget to examine the flip side of these things here. The forewords alone are very interesting reads and well worth reading. |
And here free. www.fas.org/irp/doddir/army/fm3-24fd.pdf |
Yup. The PDF doesn't have the forewords though - the FM is a good read by itself but Petraeus has some good things to say in the forward and the other contributions are good reads as well. |
