I *JUST* starting watching this show.  HOW THE HELL DID I SURVIVE WITHOUT IT???

Bought Season 1 on DVD last week and I am so horribly addicted to it, it's all I can do to not watch it here at work.

TV at some of it's best, I really look forward to getting caught up with the current story line.

Because the first season was garbage. That's how you survived. They should have started with the second season, because the first was horrible.

Well the first season was all about building up the main plot.  it took almost half of season 1 just to get the main characters/setting in place.  once you finally knew everything that was going on- bam its coalition of the willing and the wait for season 2..

And lets be honest- the first 3 episodes of this season were pretty damned weak.  it took a deaf chick, a scattergun, and a half dozen G-18s to make this season start looking good

I would say Jericho had some of the best character development of any show on TV recently.  Some parts of the first season were slow, but you really got to know the characters and the motivations for the things they do.

The writing was terrible. The people didn't act like any human beings I ever met. You had rural guys, farmers etc, who didn't know how to operate their weaps or even have sights on their weaps. They didn't know how to survive or make do without outside assistance. You could tell the show was written by a guy from New York who had never left Manhattan except to go to another purely urban place.

If there was a Jericho incident tomorrow, nobody in my immediate rural area would starve, and judging from the amount of gunfire I hear every winter AFTER DARK, many know how to procure food from the wild, know how to shoot, have sights on their weapons, and may even have night sights.

All my neighbors want from the government is for it to go the hell away. Ya know what? I agree.

They were better than season one.

It was the best episode by far. It also illustrated a truth, you need surprise and a 6:1 advantage  to take down a house. The defender has the advantage.

Prior to the GWOT the accepted practice was to try and imprison or execute the leaders, and allow the rank and file troops to sign a pledge then send them home.

The Russians kept many German POWs for decades, which was strognly criticized.

Now we have Bush's precedent of life imprisionment and/or execution for rank and file troops as a standard.

I don't know anymore. It would depend on how decent the main guys were in the aftermath.

Because it's not the Gov't, but as was described to be a CORPORATION that overthrew the Gov't.

While I don't believe the accusation of "Left-Wing Connection", I see his point.

However, I see it more as a tyrannical gov't that is being overthrown.

Seriously, one of the best episodes so far.  Glock 18s, Bonnie with the scattergun, Red Dawn shout-outs, Boston Tea Party shout-outs, and even a Revolution shout-out.  With Stanley being one of the only hold-outs against all-out revolution, it will be easy to see him changing his tune after this incident and calling for their HEADS!

While I'm very sad that Bonnie died, I am glad that Mimi did not.  Two losses would be too much, but it certainly sets the stage for revenge (nearly the same plot in every vigilante movie.)

I can't wait till next week!

To be fair, it's a combination of a corporation as well as willing actors in the elected government, and moles within federal agencies. Honestly, if you were going to throw a coup in the United States and hope to have any possibility of success, the way Tomarchio, Valenti, and their thugs did it is probably a good route to take.

You can't tell me we don't have Congresscritters who wouldn't salivate at the idea of doing what Tomarchio did in the event of nationwide anarchy either... Senator Clinton comes to mind, for one.

Saying we have corrupt, self-serving people in the public and private sector is not left-wing propaganda, it's reality. It's one of the reasons separation of powers was such a huge key in the Constitution.

This is what I think would have to happen:

E1-E7 =  Sign pledge of loyalty or dishonorable discharge.

E8-E9 = Dishonorable discharge. Possible five years maximum prison sentence.

O1-O3 = Dishonorable discharge 10 years maximum prison sentence.

O4-O5 = Life in Prison. Dishonorable discharge.

O6 and up = Dishonorable discharge. Death by Hanging. Shooting is considered an honorable death.

Be a pretty big hit to take, but you simply couldn't risk trying to refold the officers of senior noncoms back into the military.

Saying that corporations like Haliburton and PMC groups like Blackwater would conspire against this country is about as left-wing as you get.

This show continues to tow the left-wing "Moveon.org" line that PMCs like Ravenwood (aka Blackwater) were/are accountable to no government, which is incorrect.

The enemies here are not the government or a foreign power, but a large corporation, PMC, and an old white bald guy.  If you can't see the parallels than you're beyond the ability to reason with.

This is the classic liberal story that the only threat to the USA is from within.  They even have gone so far in the story to make it look like Iran and North Korea were simply fall guys for the right wing government to hide the truth (sounds like 9/11 "Truthers" to me).

The show is entertaining, but a lot of people here are showing that as I feared a lot of folks are going to buy into this crap.  Before you know it we'll be hearing folks claim that it was the Haliburton Weather Machine that caused Katrina and that Blackwater is training to kill Americans.
