I know it doesn't look as cool as the above hummer Hxxx, but you guys should check out the new Jeep Grand Cherokee with the Mercedes diesel engine in it. Looks like a regular SUV, but can tow 7500 lbs.. Its pricey ($40k), but capable. Decent 4x4 system, 25mpg highway. I test drove one and it was pretty nice. A big improvement from the Jeep Liberty with the Italian diesel in it. Oh, and you can buy it now, instead of the Hummer concept Toyota FJ Cruiser wannabe. Or you can check out the company in San antonio texas that is putting asian market diesel engines into american 4runners and tacomas. ($14K plus your vehicle). http://dieseltoyz.com -M |

Looks like one big convoluted blind spot and low visual line of sight nightmare. Last thing in the world I'd want while off roading. That's my biggest pet peeve with the "tonka truck" look of the H2 and H3s currently, overly blocky with what appears to be blind spots everywhere. |

The hemi grand cherokes can tow as much as my crd grand. Depending on incentives and what not the gasser grands can be had a lot cheaper out the door than a crd grand. The mileage with the gasser grands is not that much worse than my diesel grand. I think the tow limit is more like 7400 or so, right in there somewhere but I think below 7500. Or maybe the 08 is a bit different from my 07. I prefer the diesel but they don't offer the lifetime warranty and they cost more out the door than a gasser grand, so depending on your specific wants and needs a crd grand may or may not be a good choice. I got my 07 in december of 07 so I had a lot of incentives and other fun stuff to mess with. But I could have been off the lot cheaper with a hemi grand. |
