| I added a cheap saw to my vehicle stash, untested. After a recent ice storm, I entered the long forested lane to my BOL to find it blocked in 7 places by tree tops and boughs. I fished out my "american intertool #40000" and it looked like a joke, tiny little saw against some immense jumbles. But, the good news was it tore thru everything including limbs half as thick as the saw is long. It has a 4-point, Japanese made, blade that really rips and tears. Good news- they are readily available for $6.95 at about 10 sites by Google. I don't remember who I bought mine from; but it is the best tool money I've spent. Small-light-cheap-quick and cuts like a mofo. Highly recommend for anyone who lives or needs to BO where there's a tree! |

Berdan, I have to thank you for the tip on this saw. Man for the price you can't beat it so I ordered one just to have around, "in case". It arrived on Thursday night. This weekend my wife and I decide to build a firewood holder out of 4x4s and 2x4s for the wood I just split. I bought some very fresh and damp pressure treated wood from Lowes yesterday and decided to build the wood holder this morning. My wife suggested using the new saw and I said nah, it's just a pruning saw. I broke out the cross-cut saw and started cutting the 4x4s in half. Man I wasn't getting anywhere very quickly so I figured, heck why not give the pruning saw a try. This thing sliced through two 4x4s and 4 sections of a 2x4 like they were balsa wood. I couldn't believe it. I mean that this wood was so damp that when I drove the decking screws home a little juice would squirt out. Best damn saw of this type I have ever seen. I don't doubt for a moment that I can take 6-8 inch tree down with this saw . Branches wouldn't even be a challenge. |
