hi just a quick one but today i dug out my old army Machete to give it its yearly clean and oil but after i cleaned it i just sprayed it with some gloss black paint. the thinking is that it will keep the rust of and the first time i use it , it will just chip off anyway . john,, |

UKjohn... that is what I did, with a machete I rarely use. I used high heat non gloss BBQ black ( it was handy ). It worked just fine two years later. |
+1. Ballistol works well to inhibit corrosion, for gun cleaning and lubricating. It's also non-toxic. A cheaper alternative is automatic transmission fluid, though it's not non-toxic. |
