| I was thinking theres alot of us in alot of states we could eventually all BO to a town of pre decided origin if we live in nearby states so that we could rebuild and establish some kind of a trade and goverment system.......just a thought so (dont bash) |
can you 100% say i wont shoot you and take what you have before the rest of arfcom shows up........... while combined, in a good effort with good leadership im sure we could rebuild a small town with lil effort.... spread out as we are it'd be a a cluster F for sure. That is why you must network now....while you can in your AO.... |
| i mean you can only survive as a small fighting force for so long.....one day theres gonna be a bigger and more relentless attack.......on where your holed up.........if you had a rebuilt town and fortified the location.......you could hole up for an even longer period of time and with more people you could be more effective as a whole |
That's a good point. However, I personally am not going to post my bug out plans on the internet and hope everyone that joins in is a good guy. I'm happy to pre-plan whatever SHTF stuff people want as long as they're my real-world friends. my $.02/ YMMV not that I have anything against meeting up with ARFCOMmers I don't know in real life. Just not to plan for TEOTWAWKI. |
| Why would I leave my peaceful, rural town with a population of friendly "can-do" people and travel hundreds or thousands of miles to participate in a potentially unwelcome "rebuild and make things the way we want 'em" program that would most likely come apart at the seams as soon as someone asked "what camouflage pattern would be best for the guys patrolling the perimeter?" |
| The problem I see and the vibe I get from most preppers is they feel they should lead cause they thought a head. Well a town full of chiefs with no Indians is destined to fail. I see this crap all the time in the Army. Some unit of all NCO's Senior NCO's at that get to gethere and no one wants to work. So this will not work cause everyone wants to be a leader. |

Here in the mid-west (and many other places i'm sure) we have many small, rural towns, running anywhere from 500-2000 population. In the event of a major TEOTWAKI event I have no doubt that these locales, made up of farmers, contractors, mechanics, doctors, mom-n-pop's, etc, would soon band together to protect the common interest (and their own skins). I can envision in a big scenario major roads leading into the community being blockaded and guarded to prevent non-desireables from entry, people being "hired" to protect field crops from looting, etc.. I can see a community like this developing a barter system-type economy. There is strength in numbers when it comes to long term survival/rebuilding. just my .02 |
thats what i envisioned if there was multiple towns like this which most likely there would be....you could have a trade system between all of them |
My area is similar to the one armednhappy described. I don't see us welcoming with open arms a bunch of outsiders with mouths to feed who are trying to set things up the way they want them. Quite the opposite, actually... |
The NJ militia of potatoechip carrying, big...big boned ARCommers was nearly activated the other night...we would be moving into...South Jersey to make a free country. |
| This is the biggest obstacle to a survivalist IMHO. Once you get your beans bullets and beer all stored away ( along with the other several thousand items needed for long term survival, including land). How to collect and organise enough like minded people to be able to survive the comming chaos. Even with getting all my family and friends that I can on board with just the basics, I only have maybe a dozen people or so. That is not near enough manpower needed to accomplish everyhting needed to be successful. |
