| So I'm thinking about buying some property for a BOL .I live in FL but it's not feasible to buy property here(unless you like getting raped).Where do you guys think I would get the best bang for the buck and still be a good BOL? Also how much land do you need for a good BOL? I would like to have something like 10-40 acres. |

For your $6k per acre, you are right beside the 78k acre Gov't property. It is also off of paved roads.

Depending upon what poart of Florida your in. Al, Mid-south Ga, and Western part of SC all have much better property prices than Florida and much nicer scenery. I grew up in Fla. and wouldn't go back for anything if I could help it. Not to hard to find 10-40 acres in any of those 3 for 1500-4000/acre Alabama probably being the cheapest. Check out this site lots of land anywhere you want it. I know in the western/central part of SC there is a lot of Natl Forest land and you can find parcels inside of it for pretty good prices. Wouldn't take but maybe 10acres surrounded by NF to have a great BOL. Other states may have similar type places you'd just have to do your research. If this is truely BOL the 78k of property that it butts up to is gonna be more than worth the 6k an acre you payed. Forest Rangers are gonna have a hard time stopping you from farming and harvesting timber in an extended shtf/teotwawki. Also BOL is useless unless you can get there in time. Paying extra money is worth not having to travel 200+miles to get to safety. |
| The comment above is exactly what I will be worried about If It was a SHTF situation and I was on my BOL . People that are own my land especially with guns would not be welcomed in a SHTF situation and my Bugout land is a place were you think no one would find you......On another note I wouldnt spend alot of money on a piece of land only used to bugout because it would be a completely useless piece of property to you unless the S does HTF.I would find a good piece of hunting land that you would hunt regularly and being BOL would only be its second use. Thats just my humble opinion |
