[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Water Purification Tablets?

I have been looking for some water purification tablets for my BOB. I am saving for the Katadyn Pocket Filter, but for now I would like to get some tablets. Any suggestions on effictive tablets? The Katadyns look to be quite promising.

Here are the ones that I have found thusfar:

Get the Katadyn, it is the only one that is effective against everything. The US Army tested a ton of different commercially available water treatment systems because soldiers were bringing them overseas. The complete results are here:

I carry some for a backup, but the downside of most of those is the dwell time and shelf life, especially in cold weather. If I have to wait 4 hours, I might as well just boil. Just my .02.
