I've picked them up as low as $42 shipped off of Ebay for a case... test dates 06-07

Just have to be careful who you buy from... make certain they are reputable.

eBay prices have been pretty low lately. One guy seems to have a steady supply  and he's selling the 2005 cases for $65 for two cases plus actual shipping. So $35-$45 shipped per case seems to be about right.

That's drastically down from what they were going for a year or so ago after all the hurricanes - we're talking $80-$100 per case not including shipping. Crazy prices, I know, but that's what happens when people wait until a disaster hits before they stock up.

First number:  month
Second number:  year

These are test inspection dates.  If stored in cool, dry areas, they will last much longer than the inspection date.

How "much" longer?

I'm thinking of picking up a few... I dont think I would rotate a case, but maybe 5 or so..

If you're really curious about the inspection procedure, check out this document from the DSCP's Quality Assurance site:

If u keep ur MRE's in the frezer then they will last longer. Here the cases are going for around $65.00-$80.00.You can pick up indivigual for around $4.00-$6.00 each and that way you can make up ur own boxes of the meals that u like.hainsawkill.gif

personally I wouldn't buy USGI second hand...you never know how they were stored prior to you getting them.

I prefer to buy civilian packaged from one of the USGI suppliers.  Same stuff, different box.

check out www.mreinfo.com for lots of info

I've been getting them for $30 a case at the flea market.  The inspection dates are all good as is the temperature monitor on the box.  It helps that I'm right outside a couple of military bases.
