Trivia:  Gene Simmons (KISS) was originally tagged as the devil, but had to back out due to the band's reunion.

I've seen it a couple times.  Once when it first aired back in the 90s.  Once again (for all agonizing 8 hours) on a Sunday a couple months ago on SciFi.

It got too stupid and hippie love-fest after the fall.

Here is a bit of humor related to The Stand. They filmed a lot of it here in Utah. There is one scene where the people are walking along a high desert road and there are a bunch of over turned and wrecked cars and that sort of thing. The area they filmed that particular scene is along a highway that a buddy and I used to take to go out to the desert to go shooting. ( The area has since been developed, so no more shooting ) Anyway, the morning they were filming that scene, we were going shooting, came up over a rise and saw all the wrecked cars and zombie looking people walking along and about sh#t ourselves. We were both like WTFO??? All the cameras and stuff were off to one side so we didn't see them right away. They didn't have any LEOs holding traffic, just some plain clothes production company guys with a small sign. When we first saw everything, we didn't know whether to jump out to help, lock and load or turn around and haul ass out of there. We still get a laugh out of that story.
