Went scouting yesterday with a client. Yes….. I have the day off but I still go out looking for fish…. I found two schools of fish and I then went scouting up a new creek . We saw some good fish and caught one for dinner.

Those Drum are ridiculous. I've never got one that size here (Clearwater area).

No sir, all my tackle is Shimano. The rods are Shimano GLF model. I like two types. 7’ med with 2000 Vanford reels and 7’6” Med Heavy rods with 3000 Shimano Nasi reels. Both work extremely well inshore. Big tackle is 10,000 Shimano Saragossa on Grappler 7’2” heavy rods

Good question. While we do have snook here in NE FL. They are the hidden gems and we don’t usually take clients out for them unless it’s a great client. They are the fish we protect the most up here. They die off when we have a hard cold snap but it’s been a number of years and they have come back really well….

Redfish are a great fish and up till recently NE FL was the only region in Florida that allowed 2 per person. They fight hard, school well and eat great… what more can you ask for in a fish that clients love to catch time and time again…
