Nasty nasty nasty fish.

They have a terrible habit of depopulating the local waters of actually edible fish and destroy tackle.

They also have a way of being left lying on the banks and find themselves attached to trees around these parts to feed other wildlife.

Not edible and destructive... a lethal combination.

It's some of the mildest tasting white fish you can eat. Sure it's a pain in the ass to clean and prep but it is not oily, especially deep fried in a pressure fryer with peanut oil.

I grew up near the Mississippi River and have seen some big gar, but that is huge.
