I am an old retired fart that loves to fish and to be outdoors. My only problem is that I do not have any lakes to fish within driving distance - so I do the next best thing. The city that I live in has a couple of parks with small ponds and I take advantage of them. I usually go 3 or 4 times a week - use the smallest treble hook that I can find and a red wriggler worm. I usually catch three or four of these within and hour and I am good. I throw them back so I can catch them another day. It is not the best situation in the wordl, but I make the best of it...

We fished Amistad on a meat run this weekend- had 3 limits on Saturday and another 3 limits Sunday and were off the water before it got to 100 degrees. We were done by 10am both days. Probably caught 50ish both days.

We kicked their ass.

Rooster tails pull in the Peacock Bass like crazy. Better than shiners IMHO

Caught 17 last friday, this one was the biggest. Not crazy by any stretch, but september has always been a struggle for me.

Went out duck hunting in a nice down pour on the river out back.
Decided to troll for walleye and ended up with a mixed bag.
All were released.

Caught this 3.5 lb rainbow today off of a dock. I used a rapala crawdad crank bait.

Fatty!

First pics of '24.

First fish of the year was a Sunday smallmouth.
Also first oil change of the year so never mind the grimy fingernails.
Fishing was slow.  switched lakes in the afternoon for a few largemouth.

Monday was good.  Nothing huge.

Started with a double .  Ended with about a dozen.

It's going to be a good year.  Good luck fellow enthusiasts!!

I caught a fish that got away from an osprey.
Talon marks on both sides and sliced fin:

Shitty pic taken by yours truly, finally got out this morning, first bass of '24. 42 degrees and a 25 mph wind, it was damn chilly.
