Anyone use a backpack to carry their bow in while hunting?

What are you using?

I thought about this and would be interested too.  I have several ladder type stands and several hang-ons that I hunt from and it would be nice to pack everything up and walk in handsfree.  Would also like to know what you guys are using to carry your gear when toting a climber?

I use a Cablelas Outfitter Extreme for multi day pack ins. BUT, The first time I used it loaded to @ 65lbs I realized how exposed my bow was. Sit down and lean against the wrong rock and your hunt could be over. I also ran into a herd of elk while packing out one trip. Kinda tough to get to your bow when it is on the back of a 65lb pack. I now use a Primos bow sling and carry across the front or off one shoulder.

I ride my dirt bike from home to hunting area and carry my bow with a Badlands 2200.  It is an awesome pack.

Check out Crooked Horn Outfitters I use their High Country Extreme II but they have smaller packs if thats too big for your needs.  I use it for elk hunting in Colorado every year.  It has held up to 100+ lb loads up meat up and down mountains.

Very good construction and the people there are very nice.  When I was looking to buy I had alot of questions about fit because I am 6-4 and alot of packs dont fit me right.  I called and ended up talking to the owner who is tall and an avid hunter, he answered all my questions and we talked alot of hunting for a while.

Most of their packs are designed to accommodate either a rilfe or a bow which is nice if you hunt both seasons.  And their prices are very competitive.
