Just took delivery of a 8 week old female lab. Wasn't looking for another gun dog, but this one is out of the same lines as my old female we lost two years ago to cancer.
The old dog was named Cassie, and was my first gun dog, She also attained the title of working retriever in spite of her under par trainer.  . She was competing at the senior level when I quit campaigning her due to arthritis in one elbow. They say everyone gets one great dog in a life time and Cassie was definitely mine. When I am planted below ground Cassie's ashes will be with me.
I currently have a male dog named Dash. Dash achieved his UKC Hunting Retriever Champion title last April, and has been a great hunting dog in his own right, but we don't have quite the same relationship as me and Cassie. When a friend of mine e-mailed me about this current litter and I read The pedigree, I knew it was time to add to the Family. If nothing else my kids think I'm dad of the year after surprising them yesterday with a new puppy. ( To bad its only Jan)
